This page explains what cookies BeginThings uses, why we use them, and how you can opt out. Read alongside the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Websites can also use local storage and session storage for similar purposes. BeginThings uses these mechanisms to remember your theme and consent choice, keep checkout attempts consistent, recover a recently confirmed order, and—only after permission—measure site and ad performance.

How we get your consent
When you first visit a buyer-facing BeginThings page, the banner offers “Essential only” and “Accept analytics”. Analytics and advertising storage default to denied. The Google Analytics script is not loaded unless you choose “Accept analytics”. Essential site functions and checkout continue to work without it. Ordinary page assets served by third-party CDNs may still receive technical request data such as your IP address as part of the internet connection.
How to revoke consent later
If you change your mind, you can reset your cookie choice and re-see the banner. Click the button below or clear cookies for beginthings.com in your browser settings.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends GPC, we keep advertising storage denied and clear or suppress the current-tab campaign snapshot, even if analytics was previously accepted.
California residents, Your CCPA rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of any "sale" of it. We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense, but the Meta and Google advertising cookies above may qualify as "sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising" under CPRA (CCPA's 2023 amendment). You can opt out by declining cookies, sending GPC, or emailing sourav@beginthings.com with subject "CCPA opt-out".
India residents, Your DPDPA rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, and request erasure. For any DPDPA request, email sourav@beginthings.com with subject "DPDPA request" and include the email address used on this site so we can locate your record.
EU / UK residents, Your GDPR rights
Under GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and to object to processing. Email sourav@beginthings.com with subject "GDPR request" to exercise these. We respond within 30 days.
Third parties that may set cookies through this site
When you accept analytics and the relevant measurement is configured, these third parties may set cookies or receive measurement events through their scripts on this site:
- Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager), policy
- Our own contact backend (api/contact.php) handles form submissions, no third party, does not set cookies on you
- Razorpay (payments), only on the checkout pages you specifically visit

Reddit campaign measurement for BeginRooms
When you choose Accept all and Global Privacy Control is not enabled, a BeginRooms Reddit campaign can store its campaign label, ad variant, Reddit click ID and arrival time in your browser for up to 30 days. After you sign in, we may link that consented source to your verified trial, account return days, a room-save revision signal and a server-verified first subscription payment. We do not inspect or send your board text, files, email, phone number or device IP address in these conversion events.
We send eligible signup and first-payment events to Reddit through its Conversions API, with the Reddit click ID, event time, an opaque conversion ID and, for purchases, the plan, INR amount and currency. This integration does not load Reddit browser scripts or scan private workspace contents. Events without a Reddit click ID are not sent to Reddit. Account-linked measurement records are encrypted in private server storage, expire after 30 days from the ad arrival, and are removed by a daily cleanup. Small suppression markers may remain until that expiry to honour withdrawal.
Choose Essential only in Cookie settings or enable Global Privacy Control to stop new measurement. On your next authenticated measurement request, pending account attribution is cleared across devices; events already processed by Reddit are not automatically retracted. For access or deletion requests, contact sourav@beginthings.com. Independent backups and operational records remain subject to their published retention policies.
