Cookie policy

This page explains what cookies BeginThings uses, why we use them, and how you can opt out. Read alongside the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. They let websites remember things between visits (your theme preference, whether you accepted cookies, which ad campaign brought you here) and let analytics tools count distinct visitors without identifying you personally.

How we get your consent

When you first visit BeginThings, you see a cookie banner at the bottom of the page. The default is denied for analytics and advertising cookies. They only run after you actively click "Accept". Until then, only the required cookies (bt_consent, bt_theme) are set, and nothing is sent to Google or Meta.

How to revoke consent later

If you change your mind, you can reset your cookie choice and re-see the banner. Click the button below or clear cookies for beginthings.com in your browser settings.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends GPC, we treat it as a request to opt out of advertising cookies and the sale of personal information under CCPA.

California residents — Your CCPA rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of any "sale" of it. We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense — but the Meta and Google advertising cookies above may qualify as "sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising" under CPRA (CCPA's 2023 amendment). You can opt out by declining cookies, sending GPC, or emailing sourav@beginthings.com with subject "CCPA opt-out".

India residents — Your DPDPA rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, and request erasure. For any DPDPA request, email sourav@beginthings.com with subject "DPDPA request" and include the email address used on this site so we can locate your record.

EU / UK residents — Your GDPR rights

Under GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and to object to processing. Email sourav@beginthings.com with subject "GDPR request" to exercise these. We respond within 30 days.
