How amounts are written in words

In the Indian system numbers group as thousands, lakhs (1,00,000) and crores (1,00,00,000). The international system groups every three digits: thousand, million, billion. The tool writes both groupings of your number so you can check the figure against the words.

125000.50 = Rupees One Lakh Twenty-Five Thousand and Fifty Paise Only

Writing "Only" at the end, and spelling out the paise, is the usual way to stop an amount on a cheque being changed. Your bank may have its own rules, so follow the instructions on your cheque book.
