Why is the first run slow?

The first time, your browser downloads the AI model from a public model host (Hugging Face via jsDelivr). After that it is cached and starts much faster.

Tips for a clean cutout

Contrast helps. A person in a dark shirt against a light wall cuts out more cleanly than a white shirt against a white wall.
Keep the subject whole. Arms or product edges cut off by the frame are fine, but very busy foregrounds such as plants in front of the subject confuse the model.
Hair and fur are the hardest part. Expect soft or slightly blotchy edges on fly-away hair. Zoom in on the cutout before you use it on a large print.
Start from the largest photo you have. The cutout keeps the original resolution, so a sharp source gives a sharp PNG.

Common uses

Product photos for online stores. Marketplaces such as Amazon and Flipkart prefer product images on a plain white background. Remove the background here, then place the PNG on a white canvas in any editor. Profile and ID-style photos. Cut yourself out and put the result on a solid colour. Why the download is a PNG

JPG has no transparency, so the removed area would turn white or black. PNG keeps the see-through pixels. PNG files are larger; if you need a smaller file after placing the cutout on a background, convert it with PNG to WebP or compress it with the image compressor.
