PII Redactor
Find and mask personal data (names, emails, phone numbers, card numbers, IDs, IPs) in any text before you share it. Free, no signup, and it runs entirely in your browser, so your text never leaves your device.
How the PII redactor works
Paste any text, choose how you want detected data masked, and press Detect & redact. The tool first finds structured data by pattern (emails, phone numbers, credit-card-like numbers, national IDs, IP addresses and URLs), then uses a small on-device AI model to spot people, organizations and locations. It highlights what it found and gives you a cleaned copy to share.
Private by design
Everything happens in your browser. Your text is never uploaded, which is exactly what you want when the whole point is to remove sensitive information. The name-detection model downloads once and is cached for instant use after that.
Always review before sharing
Automated redaction is a strong first pass, not a guarantee. Names written unusually, uncommon ID formats, or context-specific secrets can slip through, and occasionally ordinary words get flagged. Read the result before you send it, especially for legal, medical, or financial documents.
