How to use this tool

  1. Enter the page title, description and full page URL.
  2. Add the share image URL and alt text, and choose the X card size.
  3. Check the warnings and the link preview, and adjust the text.
  4. Copy the tags and paste them inside the head of your page.

How it works

Search engines read the <title> and meta description, while social apps read Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url) when someone shares your link. X reads its own twitter: tags and falls back to Open Graph. The generator writes all of them from one set of details, escapes quotes and angle brackets, and leaves out empty tags.

The preview draws approximate cards in the style of Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp, and of X. For privacy, this page never downloads the image at your URL. To see a picture in the preview, pick the file from your device: it is shown locally and not uploaded.

Good to know

Good share cards are short and specific. Keep the title under about 60 characters and the description between 110 and 160. Use a 1200 x 630 pixel image under 5 MB, with important text away from the edges, because apps crop differently. The image and page URLs must be absolute addresses that start with https://, or many apps ignore them.

Apps cache previews, so after you change tags an old card can keep showing for a while. Most platforms have a debugger page that refreshes the cached card. Each page on your site should have its own title, description and canonical URL, which also helps search engines tell your pages apart.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I paste these tags?

Inside the <head> section of the page, before </head>. Most website builders have a field for custom head code or SEO settings.

Why does my old preview still show?

Apps cache link previews. Use the platform debugger to refresh, or wait for the cache to expire.

Do I need both Open Graph and Twitter tags?

X falls back to Open Graph for most fields, but it needs twitter:card to choose the card size, so include both.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Remote images are never fetched here, and a picture you pick is shown only on your device.

Does this improve my ranking?

Titles and descriptions mainly affect how your result looks and how often people click. They are one small part of SEO.
