A Wi-Fi QR is ideal for cafés, offices, clinics, homestays, PGs and homes with frequent guests. Phone cameras on Android 10+ and iOS 11+ recognise Wi-Fi QR codes and offer to join the network in one tap.
The code uses the standard format WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;;. Special characters in your network name or password are escaped automatically, so they work.
Is it safe?
The QR is generated entirely in your browser, and your password is never sent to us. Anyone who can see the printed QR can join, so put it where only guests see it. For offices, consider a separate guest network.
How to use it
- Enter Wi-Fi details. Type the network name, password and security type exactly as on your router.
- Generate. Press Generate QR and check the link shown under the code.
- Test and download. Scan with your phone to test, then download the print-ready PNG.
Tips
- Choose the security type your router uses (most are WPA2 or WPA3; pick WPA).
- Network names are case-sensitive; copy them exactly.
- Laminate a printed card for tables or rooms.
- Changed your password? Make a new QR.
Other handy QR codes
Put your Google reviews QR next to the Wi-Fi card, or make a Google Form QR for guest feedback. For anything else, use the main QR code generator.
Printing and testing your QR
The download is a high-contrast PNG with a white quiet zone around the code, which scanners need. Print it at least 2.5 × 2.5 cm for close scanning (cards, bills) and around 10 cm for posters read from a metre or two away. A rough rule is one unit of width for every ten units of scanning distance. Keep dark modules on a light background; inverted or low-contrast colours fail on many phones. Write the network name under the QR so guests know which network they joined, and keep the password off the card if you want scans to be the only way in.
Always scan the printed sample with two different phones before printing in bulk. Because this is a static QR, the content is stored inside the pattern itself: there is no redirect server, no subscription and nothing that can expire or be switched off later.
Where it helps most
Cafés and restaurants on table cards, PGs and homestays in each room, clinics and salons in the waiting area, coworking spaces at reception, and homes for visiting family. It also saves you reading out long passwords with mixed case and symbols, which is the most common reason guests fail to connect.
Private by design
There is no upload step and no account. The page loads the tool, and your browser does the work on your own device. That is why it is fast on good connections and still works if the network drops after the page has loaded. We don't see your files, photos, numbers or IDs, and we don't ask for your email.
