WhatsApp is how most Indian customers prefer to talk to a business. A WhatsApp QR on your shop counter, packaging, flyers, menu or visiting card lets people start a chat without saving your number. With a pre-filled message, you also know where they came from, such as “Hi, I saw your flyer”.
The QR uses WhatsApp's official click-to-chat link, wa.me/<number>. It works with WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business, on Android, iPhone and WhatsApp Web.
How to use it
- Enter your number. Add the country code, your WhatsApp number and an optional greeting message.
- Generate. Press Generate QR and check the link shown under the code.
- Test and download. Scan with your phone to test, then download the print-ready PNG.
Tips
- Enter the number without a leading 0 or +; the country code goes in its own box.
- Use a different pre-filled message for each flyer or shop to see which brings more chats.
- Want a link instead of a QR, for Instagram bio or ads? Use the WhatsApp link generator.
- Add a payment option alongside with the UPI QR code generator.
WhatsApp Business
If you use WhatsApp Business, set a greeting message and quick replies so every chat started from the QR gets an instant answer, and add your catalogue so customers can browse right away.
Printing and testing your QR
The download is a high-contrast PNG with a white quiet zone around the code, which scanners need. Print it at least 2.5 × 2.5 cm for close scanning (cards, bills) and around 10 cm for posters read from a metre or two away. A rough rule is one unit of width for every ten units of scanning distance. Keep dark modules on a light background; inverted or low-contrast colours fail on many phones. Write your number under the QR as well, for people who prefer to call.
Always scan the printed sample with two different phones before printing in bulk. Because this is a static QR, the content is stored inside the pattern itself: there is no redirect server, no subscription and nothing that can expire or be switched off later.
Where it works best
Kirana and retail counters for repeat orders, home bakers and tiffin services on packaging, tutors on pamphlets, real estate agents on property boards, and service businesses like salons and repair shops on visiting cards. Each scan starts a conversation you can reply to, label and follow up on, which is far more useful than a phone number people forget to save.
Private by design
There is no upload step and no account. The page loads the tool, and your browser does the work on your own device. That is why it is fast on good connections and still works if the network drops after the page has loaded. We don't see your files, photos, numbers or IDs, and we don't ask for your email.
